Lee ,my beautiful son was a bundle of fun and energy from the day he was born ,never slept much as a baby slept even less as a teenager.His love of life and his boundless energy got him involved in lots of things.At school he was the class clown spent more time in the corridoor than behind his desk but the teachers loved him he was just one of those kids you couldn't help liking.He played football for the school team and for east middlesbrough,he also was very involved with preforming arts appearing in nearly all the school productions but his first love was his music anything from hardcore to Frank Sinatra.His ambition was to be a music producer,l dont doubt for one minute that had he been given more time he would have been one ,and one of the best. Whilst at college he also helped out with pig pen productions he loved it ,it was his first taste of the music industry,it was then he started losing weight and generally being unwell.On October 2nd 2000 we learned he had leaukaemia,and his world came crashing down around him,not that he moaned ever.The search was on for a donor and one was found in wales only for him to pull out days before Lee was due to get his transplant that was his only hope.Sadly Lee became very ill shortly after that and was told he was in fact dying.His strength and will to live was so strong that on June the4th we were told he had just 24 hours to live,he lived till October 15th,a testiment to his strength and courage ,he wasn't ready to go till he had made it easier for us,he planned his funeral,wrote his will and said his goodbye to everybody at his confirmation party in september. He said l'm not dying just getting ready "TO START MY NEXT ADVENTURE" we put that on his headstone.Thats my beauiful son. Lee left us all to soon but gave us a lifetime of love and happiness to remember him by x
The first song "cancer" sang by my chemical romance ,could have been written for Lee .lt says so much that actually happened ,he didnt like the way the chemo and illness ravaged his body,leaving him with no body hair eye lashes the lot dissappeared. he would never get to marry,he asked to be buried in his favourite colours .when it got to the end it wasn't living waiting to go and he told me the hardest thing was having to leave us all. l only heard this song a few weeks ago,it brought tears to my eyes but it is so apt,l hope you like it Lee.
The second song "everybody hurts sometimes" was played at Lee's funeral,his choice because everybody does hurt sometime but it gives hope its ok to cry but hold on dont give up everybody has these times sometime, so thats what we do hold on for better times .
The third song "yellow" just because it reminds us !

Heaven's Grocery Store

I was walking down life's highway
a long, long time ago.
One day I saw a sign that read,
"HEAVEN'S GROCERY STORE."
As I got a little closer, the door opened wide,
and I found myself standing inside.
I saw a host of ANGELS.
They were standing everywhere.
One handed me a basket and said,
"My Child, shop with care."
Everything a human needed
was in that grocery store.
And if you couldn't carry it all,
you could come back the next day for more.
First, I got some PATIENCE.
LOVE was in the same row.
Further down was UNDERSTANDING,
you need that everywhere you go.
I got a box or two of WISDOM,
a bag or two of FAITH.
I just couldn't miss the HOLY GHOST,
for it was all over the place.
I stopped to get some STRENGTH and COURAGE
TO HELP ME RUN THIS RACE.
By then my basket was getting full,
but I remembered I needed some GRACE.
I didn't forget SALVATION,
for SALVATION was free.
So I tried to get enough of that
to save both you and me.
Then I started up to the counter
to pay my grocery bill.
For I thought I had everything
to do the MASTER'S will.
As I went up the aisle, I saw PRAYER;
and I just had to put that in,
for I knew when I stepped outside,
I would run into sin.
PEACE and JOY were plentiful;
they were last on the shelf.
SONG and PRAISE were hanging near,
so I just helped myself.
Then I said to the angel,
"Now, how much do I owe?"
He smiled again and said,
"MY CHILD, JESUS PAID YOUR BILL
A LONG, LONG TIME AGO."
